The one thing your holidays don’t need: stress! 🤯🎅
Anyone else feeling like their holiday to-do list is straight out of a Mission Impossible movie? 🎬💥 Instead of enjoying the season, you’re knee-deep in stress, and now you’re stressed about being stressed — because that’s totally festive, right?
🎄 F*CK THAT! 🎄
Here’s your permission slip to STOP. Right now. Put the ribbon down. Take a breath. ✋💨
Listen, I’m saying this as someone who recently had a moment. Picture this: I’m huffing and puffing, pulling out all the decorations, thinking, I’ve got to get this done NOW so the kids can have a magical holiday season. Except, UGH, I wasn’t enjoying anything. It felt like a massive chore. A heavy, glitter-covered, time sensitive chore.
And of course, it didn’t feel like anyone wanted to help. Why? Well, I was a one-woman holiday storm, rushing around and muttering things like, “The elf is supposed to arrive from the North Pole… the Advent calendar needs to be filled… doesn’t anyone else care about creating holiday magic?!” 😤
Um, no. Because in that moment, I wasn’t embodying the magic. I was just a stressed-out, decoration-wielding tornado. And honestly, who wants to join in on that energy? Hint… nobody, not even me.
That’s when it hit me: I’d let my “hurry up and decorate for the holiday” expectations take over. And they weren’t making me—or anyone else—happy.
Let’s be real: nobody looks back on their favorite holiday memories and thinks, “Wow, that year was just great because Mom checked everything off her to-do list by December 1!”
Nope. We remember the fun stuff:
Singing (off-key) to holiday songs 🎶
Savoring cookies that were 50% icing and 50% chaos 🍪
Giggling in snowdrifts while freezing our butts off ❄️😂
Watching twinkly lights and sipping hot cocoa, especially if it went all over our faces ☕✨
What made the holidays magical was the joy, the laughter, the moments of messy, and the heartfelt connection. 💕 And isn’t that what you want your kids to remember, too? Not your Pinterest-perfect decorations. Not your superhuman multitasking. Just YOU — laughing, glowing, and actually enjoying yourself.
So here’s the plan:
1️⃣ The moment you feel that to-do list growing claws, STOP.
2️⃣ Breathe. Yes, actually. Breathe like you mean it. 🧘♀️💨
3️⃣ Ask yourself: What’s one simple, joyful thing I can do right now to spark some magic?
Maybe it’s blasting holiday music while dancing in the kitchen. Or taking a walk to see the lights. Or doing absolutely nothing and savoring the silence. 🌌
The holidays aren’t about doing it all; they’re about showing up with joy. And that light-hearted, sparkly version of YOU is the best gift you can give. 🎁✨
So ditch the stress. Sprinkle some fun. And shine like the sparkly snow angel you are. 🌟
The joy is already here, waiting for you to notice and flow with it.
With love, laughter, and all the imperfectly perfect moments,
Abbey
