Are You Doing Things Halfway?
Ever catch yourself doing something halfway, just to check it off your list? 🙋♀️ I’ve been there too.
Recently, I noticed my workouts were what you might call “half-a**ed.” I’d sweat a little but it was more about checking a box than truly working out.
I exercise because I know it's good for me—physically, mentally, and emotionally and I need it to flush out the stress; it also feels good. But for some reason over the past few weeks, I was half in, half out. 🙄
Instead of taking a guided class with great music and structure, I’d exercise while catching up on TV shows or podcasts, thinking I could multitask like a pro.
But—I ended up zoning in on the show, zoning out of the exercise, and barely needed a shower when I finished. 🙈
It wasn’t until I attended a live yoga class on Saturday morning surrounded by strangers, that I realized what I’d been missing. Every slight adjustment, every movement, every breath, and every drop of sweat was... felt deeply. I was there for it, 100% present, shaking through every move, and left looking like I'd just taken a shower. 🤣
It struck me: Just like bada** Olympians who push themselves to the limits with full dedication and commitment, fully diving into something—whether it’s a workout, a project, a personal goal, or even coaching—brings a level of transformation that half-a**ed efforts simply can’t touch.
Imagine how much more fulfilling your experiences could be (even non-Olympic feats) if you gave your whole self to them.
Sure we can multi-task but really, one focused, present moment is worth more than a dozen distracted ones.
So, next time you dive into something, ask yourself: Am I diving all the way in? Am I doing this with a full body yes? Because when you show up fully, that’s when the real magic happens.
Sending you all the love and encouragement to go all in!
