Kickstart Your Day with these 2 Empowering Prompts!

A dear friend and I were walking & talking after Thanksgiving about how challenging it can be to thrive through multiple days of hosting or being around so many people, and brainstorming how to stay connected to our higher (calmer, friendlier) selves in those situations (ie, the holidays).

I love and appreciate time with family and also recognize that as a highly sensitive person and an introverted extrovert, it's crucial that when I'm outta my routine, I really take care of myself by creating alone time and using that time wisely.

So... if you see you're starting to get activated, triggered, frustrated, overwhelmed.. ANYTHING... I'd invite you to:
*Step 1 - Breathe
*Step 2 - Create some alone time for yourself

And then, use that time to reflect on these two empowering questions:

  1. Which of my natural talents or gifts would be of highest service today and how can I use them?

  2. What do I need to receive today?

That's it.  So simple.

The first one elevates your perspective to see how you can support others around you, and empowers you to leverage your strengths and operate at your highest.  Plus, there's an inherent sense of fulfillment when you get to share and express your natural abilities - it just feels good!

And the second question ensures you fill your own cup and ask for what you need... all of this so you can continue to give and show up in your highest.

These two prompts can be used anytime but they might be especially useful over the coming weeks if you're out of your usual routine.

I'm eager to hear what you think, if you try this out, and how this might serve over the holidays.

Sending you lots of love!
Abbey

PS - It's understandable if bigger emotional elements might come up over the holidays that deserve more self love, care, and conversation.  I'm always going to encourage you to support yourself in all levels of self nurturance too.

XOXO
